How to stay on track this Easter without missing out

Easter can feel like one of those “all or nothing” times of the year. Chocolate everywhere, social events, long weekends, disrupted routines… and suddenly it feels easier to say “I’ll just start again on Monday.”

But we are here to remind you that you don’t need to be perfect over Easter to make progress. You just need to stay consistent with the basics.

Because progress isn’t made or broken over one weekend. It’s built on your overall habits.

First: Let’s ditch the all or nothing mindset

One Easter egg, one brunch, or one day off routine does not undo your results.

What actually slows progress is:

  • Writing the whole weekend off

  • Skipping workouts entirely

  • Undereating all day then overeating at night

  • Feeling guilty and “starting again” next week

Instead, think: stay on track, not stay perfect.

Plan your week (not just the weekend)

Easter weekends often mean:

  • Different schedules

  • Travel

  • Social meals

  • Less structure

So instead of winging it, zoom out and plan your week.

Ask yourself:

  • When will I realistically train?

  • What meals can I keep consistent?

  • What events are coming up?

Even 3-4 planned workouts and some simple meals can keep your momentum going.

Don’t 'save calories' all day

One of the biggest mistakes we see over holidays is under-eating during the day to 'earn' chocolate later.

This usually leads to:

  • Intense hunger

  • Overeating at night

  • Feeling out of control around food

A better approach:

  • Eat your regular meals

  • Prioritise protein

  • Include balanced snacks

  • Enjoy Easter treats intentionally, not reactively

You’ll feel more in control and satisfied.

Keep your protein intake high

If you do nothing else over Easter, focus on protein.

Why?

  • Keeps you fuller

  • Supports muscle and recovery

  • Helps reduce mindless snacking

  • Makes indulgences easier to balance

Movement still counts

You don’t need to smash intense sessions every day to stay on track.

During long weekends, aim for:

  • Short gym sessions

  • Walks after meals

  • At-home workouts

  • Stretching or light movement

Even a 30-minute session or extra steps can make a huge difference to energy, mood, and consistency.

Enjoy chocolate without the guilt

You are allowed to enjoy Easter treats.

Yes, even if you have goals.

Instead of:
“I can’t have any chocolate”

Try:
“I’m going to enjoy it mindfully and move on.”

Practical tips:

  • Portion it out instead of eating from the bag

  • Pair chocolate with a meal or snack

  • Avoid the ‘last supper’ mentality (going into fk it mode or telling yourself this is the ‘last time’ you can enjoy treats)

Remember: it’s the habits after Easter that matter most.

Expect scale fluctuations

After Easter, it’s completely normal for the scale to go up slightly.

This is usually due to:

  • Higher carbs

  • Sodium

  • Inflammation

  • Water retention

  • Less routine

This is NOT body fat gain.

Fat gain doesn’t happen from a few days.
What matters is getting straight back into your routine.

Your post-Easter reset plan

Instead of extreme detoxes or cutting calories:

  • Return to your usual meals

  • Hit your steps

  • Get back into training

  • Hydrate well

  • Prioritise sleep

No punishment.
No restriction.
Just consistency.

At TWS, we don’t believe in “starting over” after holidays.
We believe in building habits that work around real life - Easter, birthdays, events and all.

That’s why inside the app you’ll find:

  • Balanced meal ideas (including Easter treats)

  • Realistic training programs

  • Flexible structure for busy weeks

  • Sustainable strategies that actually stick

Because your results shouldn’t disappear every time life gets busy.

This Easter, enjoy the chocolate, enjoy the moments, and stay consistent with the basics.

That’s what actually keeps you on track.
