The only detox you need
Okay, so we know I would never promote an actual detox - just had to clear that up first! I am NEVER about restriction or extreme diets - but we can save that chat for another time! Today, we are here to talk about the only kind of detox I can get behind, and that’s a ‘life detox’.
This means finding unnecessary toxicity in your immediate environment, and eliminating it to preserve your energy, improve your mindset and mental health, and let go of what's holding you back!
Here's how:
- Detox your social media: Unfollow anyone that makes you feel insecure, judged, or triggered. Remember that YOU get to curate your own social media feed, so make it a space that actually makes you feel empowered, happy, and safe.
- Detox your relationships: Let go of toxic and one-sided friendships or relationships. This can be easier said than done, however it is SO important to help you protect your energy and mental health. Plus, it will allow you to pour more energy into your positive relationships, rather than wasting time on people who you don't align with.
- Detox your work/living space: Declutter your desk space, clear out your wardrobe, or rearrange your furniture. A clear physical space means a clear mental space too! It can be as simple as making your bed each morning, or organising your desk space, but making these small changes to your living area can have a massive impact on your headspace throughout the day!
- Detox your mind: This can be the hardest part, but it's so worth it. Try to catch negative and unhelpful thoughts as they arise. Challenge these thoughts, and try and reframe your thinking. The more you practise this, the better you will get! Journaling and meditation can be really helpful tools to use as well. Find 5-10 minutes in your day to put pen to paper, reflect on how you are feeling, and challenge your negative thoughts!
